Mission Statement
Sweeney Youth Homes' mission is to stop the generational cycle of abuse by helping the whole family if at all possible. We offer counseling for the parents, the victim in the family, and the resident. We also teach the residents about their future responsibilities in becoming an adult toward their children.
We hire and train staff members who consistently work toward helping the residents to be the best they can be in whatever positive behavior they choose. Each house has a Child Care Supervisors and Child Care Workers. Each resident receives individual therapy, group therapy, sexual offender therapy, and family therapy. We have on staff two licensed clinical psychologists, licensed MFT's, LCSW's and master degree interns. We have two psychiatrists that provide psychiatric and medication evaluations. Therapy consists of discussing why they are in a group home, what they can do to change their life and how to achieve results. Special Events
We offer lessons for as rock climbing, sailing, sewing, and cooking classes. We plan events pertaining to the different seasonal holidays like pumpkin carving contests and the annual Santa Claus visit at the Christmas party are all a part of the Sweeney Youth Home family. We have the annual Sweeney Olympics for volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer competitions. Education
We believe that education is the key to the resident's future success. Our School Liaison researches and compiles up to date information as to what it takes to graduate from high school. We place the residents in the most appropriate school and monitor their performance daily. Sweeney Youth Homes now offers designer education through the use of computer programs, and one-on-one tutoring. Sweeney Youth Homes
